FYI: Of guilt trips, authentic Italian food, parties, Bandra and desi English breakfast!

With the year ending so close, Anjum Chevalwala tries to slow down time and enjoy the limited days left in November.

Italian Food Festival @ Shamiana

We’ve all had an ‘authentic Italian dish’ at some point in Mumbai. But you know what’s better than that? Real Italian food made by an Italian chef himself. Shamiana has invited Chef Giampaolo Cosimo to serve a variety of local Italian cuisine such as Medaglioni di Tonno, Paccheri di Gragnano and a whole bunch of other dishes which one may not be able to pronounce correctly, but will certainly remember its flavours for a long long time. So here’s to a taste of Italy!

We ‘Heart’ Bandra Popup Festival @ Bandra

It’s a nice feeling to celebrate things – art, literature, music, cinema, people and places – and here’s your chance to enjoy all of the above in Bandra. Join WETHEPPL as they Move, Occupy, Trip, Eat and Love with their Art Shows, Live Music, Performances, Pop Up Shops, Dance Parties, Film Screenings and Workshops & Talks. They also have surprise POP UP events for you as the festival builds. If you missed the launch on the 24th, it’s okay; the month long festival has a lot more in store for all of us.

Guilt Trip @ Carter Road

What better way to celebrate our guilt with of giving in to our cravings for yummylicious food, than trying Bandra’s latest dessert corner. A new addition to Bandra’s little khao galli, Guilt Trip promises to have you tripping over their cupcakes, cakes and macaroons! We all pray to the Lord to ‘lead us not into temptation’ but this is one sin we will happily walk towards.

Madhatters The Party Shop @ Bandra

We have a new place for some crazy party shopping. Madhatters The Party Shop has recently rolled up their shutters in Bandra. You can buy cool party supplies for Christmas celebrations, hen nights, baby showers, birthdays (the kiddy and the naughty kinds!), Halloween, New Year’s and other theme parties. You can also discover their range of rings that double up as openers, t-shirt patches with designs that react to music, and several other quirky knick-knacks. With Christmas and New Year’s Eve just around the corner, it’s a good time to check out the new place and go gaga!

New Menu @ Café Basilico Bistro and Deli

The West meets East concept has long been popular and yet another bristo has fallen prey to its charm. Café Basilico Bistro and Deli has introduced a new menu, European breakfast desi style. The list of options will include a wide range of soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, stews and a lot more. They have also introduced burgers and a ‘create your own steak’ option for grills. We are waiting to try it out and figure out if this fusion is a hit or a miss. Come join us.

Now that we have an updated list of ‘to-do’ things for the next few days, we’re off to explore and enjoy them. We hope to catch our burrpers there.
